| Tour Toledo Edison’s Bayshore Power Plant, located along the shores of Lake Erie in Oregon, Ohio. The tour will begin at 6:30 p.m., and cover not only the "traditional" coal-fired units but also the new unit constructed as a joint venture between BP and FirstEnergy that was placed in service earlier this year. The new boiler is fueled with pet coke, a by-product of the petroleum refining process at the nearby BP facility. The tour promises to be very interesting and informative, with plenty of time for questions and discussion. Please RSVP to Bob Toth, PES Chair, at 249-5199 or by e-mail at ratoth@firstenergycorp.com no later than September 27, 2001. |
